Positioned high on a clifftop, this stunning Muriwai home maximises its spectacular view while minimising exposure to the ferocious west coast winds.
A relatively small home at 132sqm, inside it feels spacious and light. Large floor-to-ceiling windows run the length of the house, with sliders at each end to open up the space and connect to the outside patios.
The owners’ brief was for large windows with minimal visible aluminium, and for a comfortable, low maintenance home. Fairview Architectural range of windows and doors provided the perfect solution; strong enough to withstand the west coast winds, but still achieve a clean, refined look with little aluminium showing and even surfaces throughout.
As the glass panels specified along the front of the house were too large for double glazing, high performance low-e glass was used. Affording no compromise on the view for comfort, the low-e glass works year round to maintain a comfortable indoor temperature.
Fairview manufacturer, MD Aluminium worked closely with the architect to ensure all the detailing and finishing on the windows and doors was perfect. The end result is an impressive one-bedroom wonder with windows and doors that capture the stunning view with comfort and style.
